The five-times champion beat Leicester rider, Craig Whitehead, in a run-off for third place, after both had scored 16 points.

Harris, aged 50, also produced an impressive performance which belied his age when he finished ninth in the final of the British Indoor Open Championship.

The six-times champion – an all time record – scored 16 points in his semi-final, to qualify comfortably for the final.
