LOSTOCK AC are putting the finishing touches to Sunday's Lostock 6 road race.

One of the oldest established road races in the UK, it attracts the best amateur runners from the North West and beyond.

This year – the 37th running of the race – sees a sponsorship partnership with Scan Computers International, the UK's leading supplier of computer hardware and PC components.

Prizes will be awarded to the first three men and women and first-placed under-20 male and female, as well as age-group prizes to the first-placed veteran-40, 45, 50, 55, 60, 65 and 70 male, and veteran-35, 40, 45, 55, 60 and 65 female.

A bonus cash prize is also available to the winners if they break the course records currently held by Chris Steele 29mins 48secs (Border Harriers) and Laura Hesketh 34:16 (Clayton le Moors Harriers).

All finishers will receive a bespoke buff, while male and female winners in each age category will receive a Lostock 6 medal, with additional fun spot prizes on offer.

The race headquarters, registration and prizegiving venue is Barnstormers pub where competitors, family and friends can enjoy hospitality.

Race-day photography is provided by Mark Lysycia Photography, and drone footage, weather permitting, will be courtesy of Peter Ravald.
