INJURIES and missed chances cost Bolton Hockey Club men's first team victory against Kendal.

The local lads conceded a last-minute goal as they had to settle for a 2-2 draw.

Joel Reece broke the deadlock before Kendal equalised before half time.

Scott Mathers restored the lead, coolly slotting a James Robinson pass into the net.

With a third of their side starting the game carrying knocks, and Damien Pearse tearing his hamstring late in the second half, Bolton were unable to hold on.

Bolton men's third team came back twice before losing 3-2 at Preston.

Finlay Daley scored the first equaliser before the hosts took a 2-1 lead into the break.

Bolton dominated the second half, Ben Choudray finally equalising after his side wasted numerous chances.

But it was not to be as Preston grabbed the winner.

Bolton Beavers won 3-1 at Northrop Hall with goals by Louis Bate, Emma Begg and man-of-the-match Daniel Parsonson.

Bolton ladies' first team staged a valiant fightback before losing 6-4 at Lymm.

After being 5-1 behind at the break – Penny Townsend scoring the Bolton goal to make it 1-1 – which became 6-1 early in the second half, the visitors rallied and fired home four unanswered goals with Townsend adding to her tally with more goals and Emily Wilkes also scoring one.

Bolton ladies' second and third teams also lost.

The seconds went down 3-1 to City of Manchester, Debbie Nicholson converting a short corner to pull it back to 2-1, and Abbie Harrop hammering home the thirds' goal.
