THREE Burnden runners conquered the iconic London Marathon course on Sunday.

Mumtaz Patel was the first to finish, clocking a time of 3hrs 44mins 15secs having crossed the halfway point at 1:49:02.

All came home in less than five hours. Andy Staveley crossed halfway in 1:50:15 and completed the 42k in 4:06:42, while Jackie Cairns ran it in 4:57:00 having reached halfway in 2:24:56.

Marcus Chester completed the Blackpool Half Marathon in 1:34:09, just ahead of Adrian Ashburn in 1:45:52. Claire Yates chose to run the 10k event at the festival and finished in 1:03:53.

Two members tackled the three disciplines of the Clitheroe Triathlon.

Martyn Pollitt completed the 400m pool swim in 8:31 and followed it up with a time of 58:46 for the 30k bike course and 35:24 for the 8k run to give him a combined time of 1:44:30.

Ged Turner was out of the pool in 12:44, before covering the bike route in 1:16:38 and the run in 45:02 for his total of 2:18:00.
