THIS week’s delve into the picture archives at The Bolton News has unearthed this photograph of the two teams who competed in the Bolton Evening News Centenary Trophy final 30 years ago.

The two teams pictured in April 1989 are Tonge Moore County Primary School, left, and Bolton School who shared the cup after the final at High Lawn School in Sharples ended in a 1-1 draw.

Do you remember those teams or recognise anyone pictured?

Did you play for either in that final?

Email david.pye@nqnw.co.uk with any recollections.

THE second photograph features a Silcoms (Woodside) FC line-up from October 1980 which was reprinted a fortnight ago in the sporting nostalgia section and brought back memories for several readers.

Trevor Fearon emailed: "I am in the picture, back row, four from the left, and the line up is back, from left, Bob Fearon, Terry Hutchinson, John ?, me, John Worthington, Alan Mealor, Tommy ?, Oniss Nelson; front, David Stones, John Young, Cliff Howarth, Johnny Moon, Gary Greaves, Gary Hayes, Steve Carney, with manager John Wallwork on the right.

"That season we were promoted and the picture was taken at the Snow Hill ground."

Two members of the Young family also got in touch.

Rebecca Young said: "What a great picture of the Silcoms (Woodside) FC line-up from October 1980.

"I'm proud to say that on the front row, second from the left, is my wonderful dad John Young.

"Thanks for a great article."

John got in touch himself and said: "Looking at the photo, on the front row from the left is David Stones then me, and second from the right is Gary Heyes – his father Joe played for Man City.

"On the back row, from the right, is John Wallwork ('Wally') who was the manager who sadly died recently.

"Then it is Onus Nelson, Tommy Lenihan and Alan Mealor.

"From the left, second in is Terry Hutchinson (secretary)."
