BURNDEN’S Anne Ferguson picked up two victories over the Bank Holiday weekend.

She was first F60 at the 18k Kentmere Trail Race at Staveley, in the Lake District, in 1hr 40mins 55 secs and followed that up on Monday with the age-group prize at the Joe’s Cup Hill Race at Brinscall, Chorley.

Don Nichol was third M60 at the Kentmere race in 1:43:17 and Carolyn Barker completed the 18k challenge event in 2:00:20.

Gareth Doherty was the first member to complete the testing 5.9k Joe’s Cup course with 1,079 feet of climb.

He crossed the finish line 10th overall in 49:20 ahead of Pete Hopley in 12th (49:40), the only other member under 50 minutes. Phil Glassbrook was first M70 in 1:10:35.

Christophe Menand covered the Yarrow Bluebell 10k at Chorley in 49:35, followed by Mark Haslam in 1:02:29, Jen Forkin in 1:26:49 and Nicola Hardy in 1:29:35.

Sarah Watton completed the Liverpool Spring 10k in 44:03.

Martyn Pollitt was the star performer at the Horwich Tri. He posted a total of 2:06:33 – 10:34 for the 500m pool swim, 1:11:55 over the 40k bike course and 40:57 for the 8.6k run.

Adam Holmes was out of the pool in 12:07, added a bike time of 1:28:11 and a run time of 58:06 for a total of 2:45:08.

Ged Turner registered 2:49:12 with a 16:52 swim, a 1:31:56 bike ride and a 54:31 run.

Trevor Fishwick completed the swim in 15:02, the bike section in 1:47:41 and the run in 1:34:17 for a total of 3:47:11.
