LOSTOCK AC's Josie Greenhalgh was first in her age group at the Lakeland Classics Ennerdale Horseshoe fell race.
Primarily a training run for fellow Lostocker Tony Marlow prior to his forthcoming attempt at the Leo Pollard Fell Race, Lakes, Meres and Waters ultramarathon, Greenhalgh bagged her age-group victory in a time of 6hrs 43mins 18secs, with Marlow following immediately behind.
Also in the Lake District for the Great North Swim was Alan Mather, who completed a challenging two-mile swim in 1:28:00.
Closer to home, Gareth Pratt achieved a 10k personal best of 45:43 at the Catforth 10k, while Barry Wroe continued his impressive start to his Lostock racing career with a strong 58:46 at the local Mast 10k.
Jennifer Donnellan overcame an Achilles injury to complete the Edgworth 10k in 64:15 and Anthony Wilcock headed to Doncaster for the 21st of his planned 30 half marathons in his 30th year, finishing in a time of 1:56:11.
At the Leo Pollard Memorial Fell Race, Marlow was the first Lostocker home in a time of 1:07:00, followed by Abigail Sunter 1:11:35 and Michele Sunter 1:19:57.
Rob Garstang, Pollard's grandson, poignantly finished in 1:30:08.
Rachel Hancock demonstrated her increased strength and ability in the multi-sport format with a time of 1:55:12 at the Bolton NHS Fun Triathlon.
At Haigh Hall parkrun, Andy Laycock clocked 23:47, Bev Atherton-McKenna finished in 27:23, Karen Taylor ran 28:56 and Ian Burns came home in 29:20.
