IT'S the first of a Batley double bill tomorrow when the Centurions trek over the Pennines to Mount Pleasant.

Ahead of their Northern Rail Cup Semi-Final next Thursday, the two teams must do battle in the league. With Featherstone Rovers winning against Halifax on Thursday, Leigh need a victory to keep in touch with the Yorkshire club at the top of the league while Batley are hoping to extend their recent run to six wins in their last eight games.

The scene is set for act one and Leigh could ring the changes. 33 year old Paul Smith, signed last week after most recently being player coach at Swinton could be pitched in while there are also potential first team recalls for Jamie Durbin, Ian Mort and Steve Nash and Nick Stanton could feature after acting as eighteenth man for the last couple of games.

"The only blokes that won't play are the blokes carrying injuries." Boss Ian Millward confirmed.

"We've already got Robbie (Paul) and Ricky (Bibey) out, but there is a couple of other blokes carrying injuries, so that just gives someone else an opportunity which is fantastic."

"I'll be looking to pick the strongest team that I can but I'll just have to take it from there."

One confirmed player in Millward's line-up this weekend is Anthony Nicholson who came through his first team debut unscathed and scored a try as well as creating one.

"Anthony played well." Millward said, "and he's in the team again this week."

"I don't have expectations of Anthony. If he plays well, he gets in the team, if he doesn't then he won't make it."

Once again Leigh will not call on any of their four dual contract signings with three involved with their Super League clubs this weekend.

Two players who won't be involved in games at Leigh over the next month are youngsters Andy Ainscough and Danny Meekin. The forward pair have joined Swinton on loan and are expected to make their bows at South Wales tomorrow.

Ahead of the Northern Rail Cup Semi-Final, Leigh have announced a ticket deal of £10 per adult and £6 per concession or junior for pre-purchase seating or standing. The offer is available up to Tuesday 15th June at 5pm. After this the tickets can be purchased at normal match day ticket prices.

Around 7000 tickets have been sold ahead of this evening's international at the Sports Village between England and France (5.15pm).
