WANDERERS slipped into the bottom three with a desperate defeat at Burton - but how did the players rate? Marc Iles gives his verdict.

The Bolton News:

WANDERERS (4-2-3-1)

BEN ALNWICK…7 Couldn’t really have done a lot more. Three big saves in the second half to stop the game becoming a complete embarrassment.

JON FLANAGAN…3 Flanagan finished the day with a pass success rate of 38 per cent, which for a player of his pedigree is really quite woeful.

DORIAN DERVITE…3 It was hard to imagine why this, of all days, was chosen to hand the Frenchman his first start since March. He did not cover himself in glory.

MARK BEEVERS…3 Too slow to react on so many occasions. Not anywhere near good enough on a day he should have thrived on.

ANDY TAYLOR…3 Another player who looked yards off the pace at times. Failed to get a proper hold of Sordell on Burton’s right hand side.

DERIK OSEDE…3 Probably the man Wanderers looked to for midfield composure, but bypassed so completely in the first half he was hooked at half time.

KARL HENRY…3 Having nowhere near the same positive effect on games as he did on his arrival at Bolton. It’s hard to distinguish why.

CRAIG NOONE…6.5 Escapes the vast majority of criticism because he chased like a demon, demanded the ball and came back for more, even when Burton crowded him out.

DARREN PRATLEY…3 Gave little to the game aside from some cheap fouls and an elbow on Ben Turner. His experience should be shining through on games like this.

SAMMY AMEOBI…3.5 Looked up for it for about 20 minutes in the first half and went close with a cross-shot but, once again, he disappeared when Bolton needed him most.

ADAM LE FONDRE…5 The frustration was etched on his face – but ALF had one reasonable chance and didn’t get it on target. He continued to chase, which is something.

Subs: Morais 5, 45 (for Flanagan) – Hard to pin-point where he was asked to play but even half-fit The Postman showed the right attitude.

Buckley 3, 46 (for Derik) – Added little after half time.

Wilbraham 72 (for Henry) – Should he have started the game?
