JONATHAN Walters came back to haunt Wanderers in devastating fashion.

Striker Walters only made six first-team appearances for the Reebok club in three years before leaving for Hull City in 2004. But he insisted he harboured no ill feelings towards his former employees – but there was no sympathy either after Wanderers’ semi-final capitulation. Bolton were fantastic to me when I was there so it wasn’t in my mind to get revenge or anything like that,” said Walters, who joined Wanderers for £50,000 from Blackburn as an 18-year-old.
