A REWARD has been offered for help tracing those responsible for stealing £50,000 from a pensioner.

The reward, thought to be around £2000, was offered after the 78-year-old man was robbed outside a Glasgow bank last Thursday.

Police said the person who donated the reward money wishes to remain anonymous.

The victim was approached by a man after leaving the Royal Bank of Scotland in Paisley Road West, Cardonald, at 10.35am.

His attacker knocked him to the ground as he crossed Cardonald Place Road and stole the zipped bag he was carrying, which contained around £50,000.

The victim suffered minor injuries but was badly shaken by the incident.

It is understood the victim is a local businessman who regularly makes large cash withdrawals.
