POLICE are hunting two men who stole several expensive watches during an audacious "smash and grab" at a Bury jewellers.
The front display window of the Peter Jackson store at St John's Gardens on The Rock was smashed in the raid before the watches were stolen.
It is understood that the shop's automatic smokescreen was activated, causing staff and customers, including one person in a wheelchair, to evacuate the premises.
Officers were called to the store at 11.45am on Monday.
A Greater Manchester Police spokesman said: "On arrival they found that two men had smashed the front window and stolen several expensive watches. We are now investigating and viewing CCTV."
