Team news

Both Bury and Sheffield Wednesday will start with what look close to be their full strength sides.

Jalal makes his first-team debut in goal following his summer signing after being released by Bournemouth, while Chris Hussey, Nicky Adams and Ryan Lowe start following their return to the club.

Transfer-listed midfielder Andy Procter makes the bench, despite not being given a squad number for the season, while Joe Widdowson and former Shaker Peter Sweeney are two of four unamed triallists on the team sheet.

7:35pm

Team line-ups

BURY: Jalal; Jones, Mills, McNulty, Hussey; Adams, Sedgwick, Tutte, Mayor; Lowe, Nardiello.

Subs: O'Brien, Soares, Platt, Grimes, Lainton, Cameron, Burke, Procter (plus four unamed triallists including Joe Widdowson and Peter Sweeney).

SHEFF WED: Westwood; Palmer, Hutchinson, Loovens, Helan; Antonio, Semedo, Lee, Maghoma; Nuhiu, Lavery.

Subs: Zayatte, Wildsmith, Coke, Mattock, Madine, McCabe, Corry, Maguire, Floro, Sanders, Young.

7:08pm

The Bury players are out training here at the AJ Bell Stadium in Salford - chosen to stage their first "home" game of the pre-season following delays to relaying the pitch at the JD Stadium.

It looks like the club has been true to its word after tweeting earlier on today that manager David Flitcroft would be fielding a full-strength team.

It looks like the full squad of 19 players are out here being put through their paces by the Shakers' new-look coaching team.

There also seems to be a couple of triallists on show, including Joe Widdowson.

It may be significant that Ashley Grimes, given a squad number for the new season, is back in the fold, while Andy Procter, placed on the transfer list in May, along with Grimes, is neither in the new squad list nor featuring here tonight.

Ok so far we have won one game emphatically lost three and drawn one, does everyone expect us to go up as champions or finish in the top 7?.
I think it is better to lose in pre-season than to have a bad start and then play catch up with the rest of the contenders.
Not sure why there is a need to bring in so many ex Fail players on trial,Perhaps David wants to turn us in to Fail mark 2.
Jonah is not a right back and will never be a right back, you need to replace him with an authodox RB David.
Sheffield weds are no great shakes so that result is slightly worrying but I trust all of the lads will enjoy their bonus holiday sorry work camp in Tenerife, losing to Salford was a surprise but it's experimental at this stage of the season.

I agree, with you Eileen regarding the right back position,we need a decent
player ,and veselli would fit the bill.
also a young striker rose or hallam would be fine.

Wow Eileen, it's pre-season. We've lost against WBA and Sheff Weds and you're worried about the season ahead???
Jones at RB will be fine, if Flickers thought it'd be a problem, he'd have sourced to fill that position as a priority.
It's all about match fitness at this stage and the results is secondary....althoug
h admittedly winning is better than losing.haha
We will be fine.

Good comments by all my worrie is that D. Mayer is a very good player but tends to go missing for long periods in a game most notibly when he is on the other flank away from the dugout. good workout and yes results are not important at this stage so lets not all get to hot and bothered about results .
