OWNERS of a new coffee and desserts bar which opened in Bolton town centre last month say that trading has been ‘a little slow’ since it first opened its doors to customers.

Osama Bahloul, 22, co-owner of Interchange, said: “It’s been a bit of a slow start since the Covid rates have gone up in Bolton.

“The opening week went well, but I think some people are still scared to leave the house.”

Cake, ice creams, coffees and waffles are on offer at the eaterie opposite Bolton Interchange.

They will soon be available for home deliveries on Just Eat and other delivery services.

On average, 30-35 customers are coming through the doors each day - but some days it can be as low as 10, according to Osama.

Interchange’s vision involves “putting the customers in control” - allowing customers to create their own waffles and ice creams, by choosing their own toppings and sauces.

Osama added: “Come and check us out.

“We have a lot of loyal customers - mainly bus drivers and people who work nearby. Some University of Bolton students as well.”

It is hoped that trade will pick up later this year as commuters return to work, due to the ideal location of being right outside the bus and train stations in Bolton town centre.
