Police have released a video showing a pursuit of a stolen vehicle from Bury to Bolton in the early hours of yesterday morning.

The video shows dashcam footage from both the police car and a helicopter as it is chased at high speeds through from Bury into Little Lever.

The suspected stolen vehicle was first spotted around 2.50am on September 15 in Bury. A 'lengthy' pursuit took place ­— with dashcam footage showing the police car to be travelling over 100mph ­— before the car was abandoned on Seddon Street, Little Lever.

Two men, aged 18 and 19, who were inside the car were then arrested arrested at a nearby address on suspicion of burglary, dangerous driving and numerous other offences, police said, but have since been bailed.

Officers believe the vehicle had originally been stolen from Bolton less than 24 hours earlier.

A Greater Manchester Police spokesman said: "Officers from GMP's Tactical Vehicle Intercept Unit sighted a suspected stolen vehicle in Bury around 2.50am yesterday (15 September 2021).

"Police engaged in a lengthy pursuit before the vehicle was abandoned on Seddon Street, Little Lever, with assistance from the Roads Policing Unit and the National Police Air Service.

"Following a short foot chase, officers located and arrested two men inside a nearby address.

"The men, aged 18 and 19, were arrested on suspicion of burglary, dangerous driving and numerous other offences. They have since been bailed pending further enquiries.

"The vehicle was recovered and identified as an outstanding stolen from Bolton less than 24 hours earlier."
