Special guests will be attending one of the country’s largest model shows taking place in Bolton this weekend.

The 99th Garrison, a group of North West based Star Wars re-enactors who raise money for a number of national charities, can be seen at the Bolton International Plastic Modellers' (IPMS) Society Model Show at the University of Bolton Stadium this Sunday, January 22.

Show manager Rob Monfea said: “We are thrilled to bring the show back to the UniBol after a two-year absence.

“As usual, some of the best model makers around will be displaying their work, which includes aircraft, armour, cars, and ships as well as film and sci-fi related models.

“I reckon we will have something like 1,000 models on show on the day, with modellers coming to us from as far afield as Devon and Edinburgh.

“In addition, we have had an enquiry from a modeler in Canada, who is coming over for the show and would like to be able to display some of his models. We have said we will be delighted to display his work on the club stand.

“As well as the models, this year we will have a visit from the Empire, with members of the 99th Garrison joining us to collect donations for charity and round up any Rebels who may be lurking in the show.

“This will be a fantastic opportunity for visitors to the show to have their photograph taken with Lord Vader.”

The show – the first since the pandemic - will take place in the Premier Suite at the UniBol and is open from 10am until 4pm.
