A woman was taken to hospital after a two car crash during the morning rush hour.

Derby Street, Daubhill, was closed from Goldsmith Street to Swan Lane before it was extended to Gibbon Street as emergency services attended the crash.

Police were called to reports of the RTC at 8.30am this morning, February 9, with motorists to avoid the area at the time.

Due to the incident, Diamond bus service, 582, was diverted as the road was closed.

A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police said: "We were called at 8.30am this morning to a road traffic collision.

"North West Ambulance Service and Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service were also in attendance and the road reopened at 11am."

In a video shared on social media, the incident involved two cars which hit a barrier at the side of the road on Derby Street.

A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service (GMFRS) said: “Just after 8.30am this morning (Thursday 9th February), one fire engine from Bolton Central fire station was called to reports of a road traffic collision involving two vehicles on Derby Street, Bolton.

“The crews arrived quickly at the scene.

"Firefighters used a Hearth Kit and traffic cones to make the area safe.

"One woman was taken to hospital.

“Firefighters were in attendance for around an hour.”
