Burglars broke into a town centre opticians overnight and stole cash
Employees at Scrivens Opticians on Knowsley Street arrived at work this morning, Monday, to find one of the shop’s windows had been smashed.
The break-in is the second in as many weeks at the store.

Greater Manchester Police (GMP) has confirmed that cash was stolen from the premises.

Investigations are ongoing, with no arrests made as yet.
An employee at the shop said: “We came in this morning (Monday) and it had been broken into.
“They broke in last week and broke in this week.

“It’s the whole of Bolton town centre.
"As you’re walking around the town centre you can see it.”

A GMP spokesperson said: “Officers were called at 8.50am this morning (Monday) to reports of a burglary at an opticians in Bolton town centre.

“A small amount of cash was removed from the premises. There have been no arrests and investigations are continuing.”
