Police have arrested two people on suspicion of burglary after being called to Bolton town centre in the early hours of today.
Officers said they were alerted after alarms went off at two retail premises in Bolton.
The police are running a number of operations in Bolton town centre, bot during the day and night, to keep people safe.
This includes tackling anti-social behaviour in and around the bus and train station and Operation Lioness to keep women safe as they go out in the town centre particularly at night.
A spokesman for GMP Bolton South said: " During the early hours of this morning , we received reports regarding two alarms sounding at retail stores within Bolton town centre.
"Officers attended and conducted CCTV enquiries, through the CCTV, officers were able to trace two offenders back to their residence.
"Officers swiftly paid them a visit and both offenders were arrested for burglary and are now in custody."
The arrests come just days after four people were arrested on suspicion of shoplifting offences in Bolton.
The four have since been charged.
