The famous Newton and Ridley Brewery Truck which supplies beers to one of the most famous pubs in the country has been spotted in Bolton.

The truck was spotted near Bolton train station as TV production crews film more scene for the nation's favourite soap in Bolton.

TV presenter and radio DJ Matthew Davidge, who lives in Horwich, spotted the truck - belonging to the fictional brewery which supplies beer to the Rovers Return - and the production crew.

He said: “I saw some friends that were there yesterday.

“To have the Newton and Ridley brewery here in Bolton is really good.

“It’s rarely seen out of Coronation Street.

“I don’t think many people realised it was there.

The Bolton News:

“I think it was quite a big project because there was a massive entourage.”

He says that one of the things that keeps people coming back to Bolton for filming is down to the impressive buildings in and around the town.

Matthew said: “It’s a really good place to film, with all the parks and greenery, and the buildings here.

“It’s great to have film crews here and to get Bolton on the map.

Coronation Street has filmed down here quite a few times.”

It is not the first time that the hit soap has chosen Bolton to film for a storyline, and the town is fast becoming the go to place for filming.

In April this year  TV production trucks were spotted in Le Mans Crescent setting up for filming Coronation Street.

The Bolton News:

In July last year stars of the long running soap filmed scenes inside the courtroom involving Toyah Battersby's trial for three days.

Bolton's old courthouse has been used before by Coronation Street's production crew to film a number of scenes.

Corrie’s production crews have filmed some of their biggest storylines in Bolton including the infamous bank robbery carried out by Jim McDonald, where the Wellsprings building is, and where The Bolton News used to be.

Stars from the nation's much-loved street were previously seen in Bolton filming courtroom scenes in July 2021 and 2022, covering the trial following the murder of Seb Franklin.

The storyline is being kept under wraps, but one to watch out for is Aadi and Courtney’s affair when they are caught in the act next week.

There is also an accident that Eliza is involved in after a fight with Stu.

But it is not clear whether these are the centre of the latest filming.
