Two youths were arrested yesterday evening at Bolton Interchange on suspicion of assault and public order after an incident earlier in the week.

Officers attended the station after reports of anti-social behaviour from youths on Saturday.

A spokesman for GMP said: “Plain Clothes Officers from #GMPTransportUnit have deployed at Bolton Interchange this evening due to reports of youth ASB.

“Our Officers routinely deploy in both plain clothes and uniform across Greater Manchester Transport System targeting criminality and focusing on the issues that matter most to you.

GMP has dedicated neighbourhood officers who are deployed in communities across Greater Manchester.

Darker Nights is a campaign tackling, burglary, robbery, and vehicle crime as well as anti-social behaviour.

Chief Superintendent Emily Higham, GMP’s neighbourhood crime lead, said: “The aim of the ‘Darker Nights’ campaign is to provide an insight into what the Force is doing to tackle neighbourhood crime, raise awareness of where incidents are taking place, and provide crime prevention and security advice.

“Throughout the autumn and winter months, our neighbourhood officers will be out in your community conducting high-visibility patrols, executing warrants, and pursuing and arresting offenders that are targeting you, your families, and your homes.”
