The owners of a new deli which is proving to be a huge hit with the community will be opening a pizzeria in the next couple of months.

Provisions Heaton opened on Wednesday, December 20 after restaurant owners Joe Whittaker, Pete Lancaster, and James Dagnall discovered a gap in the market.

And it is proving hugely popular with customers, and now the trio have provided an update on a new restaurant they are opening.

The three purchased Tesoro on New Hall Lane more than a year ago.

James says it has been very hard to get it to a stage where they have a rough opening date.

The original idea for the pizzeria came about after three friends took over The Finishers Arms on Church Road and installed a pizza oven, which “took off”.

Pete and Joe have been in the food industry for a long time, and James joined them a few years ago, after having electrical company ECP for 10 years – which he still has.

James said: “All three of us are really excited because there’s been a lot of hard work involved to get it to this stage where we will be opening, and people will be dining in the restaurant and enjoying wine and cheese boards at the deli.

“It’s a nice thought to think that it will all come together soon.”

The trio say the deli - Provisions Heaton – was the perfect place to complement Tesoro, which is set to open in February or March.

James says that a lot of money has been invested into the new restaurant, which he says will be “worthwhile” once it opens.

He said: “We are putting a lot of time and money into it.

“There is not going to be anywhere in Bolton that’s like it.

“We want it to bring a Manchester style restaurant to Bolton, but where they can experience something different, which will still be affordable with the type of food we will be serving.”

Discussions are still in place to finalise the menu, which will mean getting a vegan chef in.

Some of the products used on the pizzas at the restaurant will also be available to purchase from the deli.

James looks after the administration side of the businesses for the ECP, The Finishers Arms, Provisions, and what will be the restaurant.
