A man has been arrested on suspicion of shoplifting while police tackled crime in the town centre.
PC Peterson and PC Scott from the shoplifting team were patrolling the town centre yesterday (Saturday February 4).
The male has been taken to custody for questioning,
It comes as the Greater Manchester Police team has been deploying newly recruited officers, supported by senior officers, into Bolton town centre over the last few months to help support security staff and identify theft hotspots.

A spokesperson for Bolton South said: “PC Peterson and PC Scott from the shoplifting team have been out on foot patrol in Bolton Town Centre today.
“Just before the officers returned to the police station to finish their shift, they arrested a male on suspicion of shoplifting.
“The male has been taken to custody for questioning and the afternoon shoplifting team will now continue with the investigation.
“We continue to work with our local stores and partners to robustly police this area of work.”
