Bolton's motorists will have six road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network in the next couple of weeks.

And three of them are expected to cause delays of between 10 minutes and 30 minutes.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that one closure already in place is expected to carry on this week.

Each evening from 8pm to 5am up to Thursday, February 15 there will be moderate delays of between 10 and 30 minutes on the M61 in both directions between junction four and junction seven.

This is due to a lane closure for horticulture works including cutting and planting.

A further five closures will also begin over the next two weeks.

From Saturday, February 10 to Monday, February 12 between the hours of 9pm and 5am there will be a carriageway closure for barrier works on the M61 in both directions between junction three and four.

This will cause slight delays of under 10 minutes and is a permanent closure on behalf of National Highways.

From 9pm on Saturday, February 10 to 5am on Sunday, February 11, there will be slight delays on the M62 eastbound between junction 11 and 12.

This is due to a lane closure for barrier works which is permanent on behalf of National Highways.

From Monday, February 12 to Wednesday, February 14 between the hours of 9pm and 5am each evening, there will be moderate delays on the M61 northbound between junction three and four.

This is due to a carriageway closure for horticulture works.

From February 17 to February 19 between the hours of 9pm and 5am each evening, there will be moderate delays on the M61 southbound between junction one and three.

This is due to a carriageway closure for horticulture works.

And from Monday, February 19 to Saturday, March 2 between the hours of 8.30pm and 5am each evening, there will be slight delays on the M61 southbound between junction five and six.

This is due to a lane closure for drainage on behalf of National Highways.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
