A number of people from Bolton have recently been in court.

Magistrates have dealt with a range of offences including motoring ones and assaults.

Here are the people who have been in the dock recently.

Joyce Mantezolo attacked a man in Bolton in November last year.

The attack was racially motivated.

On the same day he provoked fear in another man which was also racially aggravated.

Mantezolo, 22, admitted racially aggravated assault and provocation of violence at Manchester Magistrates Court.

Mentezolo, from Bradford Street, Haulgh, was given a sentence of four weeks suspended for a year.

He was ordered to do 20 rehabilitation activity requirement days and to pay £50 of compensation to the man he provoked fear in.

Stephon Allen attacked a man in Bolton in January this year.

The 54-year-old admitted actual bodily harm at Wigan and Leigh Magistrates Court.

Allen, from Winchester Way, Breightmet, Bolton, was given a sentence of four months suspended for 18 months.

He was ordered to do 35 rehabilitation activity requirement days.

John Balmer drove a Vauxhall Crossland on the M61 in Bolton while disqualified in September last year.

He also had no insurance and failed to provide a specimen for police on the same date.

The same month he failed to attend at court when required to do so.

Balmer, from Masefield Drive, Farnworth, admitted the four offences at Wigan and Leigh Magistrates Court.

The 53-year-old was given a sentence of 14 weeks suspended for a year.

He was ordered to do 20 rehabilitation activity requirement days and to attend the thinking skills programme.

He was also banned from the roads for 48 months.

Oliver Varga drove a Honda Civic on Tennyson Street, Halliwell Bolton, with methylamphetamine and cannabis in his system in April last year.

The 26-year-old also failed to turn up at court in September last year.

Varga, from Laurel Court in the centre of Bolton, admitted two counts of drug driving and failing to attend court at Wigan and Leigh Magistrates Court.

He was placed on a community order to last until November this year.

He was placed on a drug rehabilitation requirement for six months and was ordered to do 200 hours of unpaid work, 20 rehabilitation activity requirement days and was banned from the roads for four years.
