After complaints of flooding in a green area in Little Lever, two councillors have assured people the issue is being dealt with.
Water has collected on a field at the back of Stopes Road and Masefield Road in Little Lever after excessive rain.
This has left mud and dirt strewn all over the area, say residents.
Cllr David Meehan for the Little Lever ward said he was contacted last Friday about the issue.
He said: “A number of people are looking into it as it’s to do with concern of flooding on piece of land at the back of Stopes Road.
“This is an ongoing issue we have looked at regards to this land where there is an underwater culvert going under the land, and I have already made contact with planning, Bury Council, and flood defence in Bolton and Bury and I am very satisfied that at the moment everything has been complied with.”
Cllr Meehan said the rain had made the problem worse while work has been going on working on the underground culvert.
He said: “There has been a lot of rain and doing remedial work on underground culvert with more water in that area but it is being monitored and looked at.
“There will be an inspection as this was caused by piece of land at the back whose pathway has become saturated and flooded.
“As soon as we have an update we will put something up.”
Cllr Andrea Taylor-Burke for the Little Lever ward also posted about the issue on her own Facebook page and assured the public that the issue was being looked into.
She said: “This has been an ongoing issue and something I've been speaking with multiple organisations about.

“I just wanted to assure you that the flood risk department, environmental services, neighbourhood services, planning, and all other relevant departments are dealing with this.
“They are continually monitoring it and doing inspections and are in communications with the developers of the concrete works and Bury Council.
“Unfortunately, due to the continuous bad weather it's not going to be a quick fix but it's not being ignored I assure you.”
