Earlier flooding on the M56 and to M60 has now been cleared and there are no excessive delays here.
National Highways North West reported earlier on flooding at M56 eastbound between J2 Gatley and J1 - M60 and A34.
Lane one of three was closed as the matter was dealt with, but no delays were reported.
In a statement on X, the National Highways said: "Floodwater has been cleared on the #M56 eastbound between J2 (#Gatley) and J1 (#M60 #A34) and all lanes are now open.
"There are currently no excessive delays reported in the area."
It follows reports of a yellow weather warning set by the Met Office until tomorrow, as the rainy weather has hit Bolton, with flood risk warnings.

A spokesman for the Met Office said: "The Met Office says: "An area of persistent and occasionally heavy rain is expected to move from west to east across the warning area during Saturday and Sunday, falling on already saturated ground.
"Rain will clear western areas early Sunday, whilst rate of clearance from east and southeast England is open to some uncertainty, but all areas should become dry by evening."
Those travelling are advised to check routes before they travel and ensure alternatives can be used if needed.
