The principals of a Bolton theatre academy are feeling ‘excited’ as the grand opening approaches of their newest adventure – a new salon and shop.

Opening on Monday, April 15, Stacey and Julie Taylor of Taylor’s Theatre Academy will be opening a salon specialising in all hair and beauty needs as well as offering dancing clothes and shoes.

The new shop - The Bees Knees at Taylor’s - will be based below the academy on Crompton Way on SMS retail park and they have already had a great response from the local community.

Stacey said: “We are really exciting to be opening The Bees Knees on Monday.

“Julie has always been involved in the hair and beauty industry so it’s really nice to be opening a place right underneath our academy and college.

“We have always wanted to have a place where our parents and our community could come and relax and get pampered, so as soon as the unit below us became available we knew we had to take the opportunity.

“Julie has always had a passion for hair and beauty, and now she is fully qualified in aesthetics, so it seemed like the right thing to do.”

The Bolton News: Inside the salonInside the salon (Image: Stacey Taylor)Stacey said there will be lots of treatments on offer at the salon with Julie Taylor offering aesthetics, hairstyling and makeup, Sinead Marie offering nails and beauty and Keighley Hankin and Krystal Duce offering hairstyling.

Stacey said: “We have two sunbeds, three hair stylists, a nail technician, a beauty therapist and an aesthetician all offering fantastic services at great prices.

“Within the salon we also have a dance shop. So, our academy and college students can come down and get dance wear and shoes fitted and ordered for classes, so it really is involving our whole community from children to adults. There’s lots on offer at The Bees Knees.”

Stacey said the team has already had a great response from the community and they can’t wait to open.

She said: “Everyone is so excited for the grand opening. We already have appointments booked in for next week, and lots of questions and enquiries are coming in.”

The duo decided to call their salon and shop 'The Bees Knees' as the building they are opening in used be a nightclub back in the day called 'The Bees Knees'.

Tom Jones and Shirley Bassey performed there.

Opening and closing times have not yet been confirmed but people can keep updated on The Bees Knees at Taylor’s Facebook page.
