Travis Perkins Radcliffe delivery driver celebrates 30 years

Craig Pedley, a staff member at Travis Perkins' branch in Radcliffe, joined the builders merchants in 1994.

He is a HGV driver and crane operator and delivers building materials, from landscaping to heavy side goods, to commercial and residential sites.

During work, he enjoys chatting and interacting with customers.

And when he is not behind the wheel, the lifelong Manchester City fan enjoys watching football and cricket, dining out, and traveling abroad with his wife.

Craig was surprised with a video in the branch, where colleagues past and present paid tribute to him, alongside a video message from former Manchester City goalkeeper Nicky Weaver.

He was also gifted with a football shirt from City with his name and the number 30 on the back.

He also enjoyed a celebration cake from Bolton bakers, Occasion Cakes, which included a replica of Craig and his vehicle.

Craig said: “I really love my job. It’s something I’ve enjoyed doing for a long time.

"I love the freedom and flexibility of it, and it’s also a really supportive environment too.

"My advice for anyone considering this career, is to go for it.

"A career in driving can take you anywhere.”

Travis Perkins Radcliffe branch manager Christopher Tivey is full of praise for Craig, who is respected by colleagues and customers.
