CHRISTOPHER WALTON, aged 25, was jailed for life and told he will spend at least 22 years behind bars after he kicked victim, Christopher Hardman, to death outside a Breightmet fish and chip shop.

Judge Anthony Cross QC described Walton, who pleaded guilty to murder, as a "vicious bully" who had carried out a merciless and prolonged attack on his victim as a "spectacle" for others watching.

Aidan Sherlock

AIDAN SHERLOCK, aged 26, turn off his headlights and drove at 120mph on a motorway while objects were hurled from his car at pursuing police vehicles.

Sherlock, of Starkey Road, Tonge Moor, admitted dangerous driving and the roads was jailed for 14 months and banned from the roads for 14 months. The court heard that he already had seven convictions for driving whilst banned.

Justin Adamson

Justin Adamson

JUSTIN ADAMSON, aged 42, was sentenced to 876 days in prison after being convicted of burglary.

He had walked into a house and picked up car keys, but was only prevented from driving off when the brave woman owner realised what had happened and confronted him as he sat in the driver's seat with the engine running.

Bernard Brookes

Bernard Brookes

BERNARD BROOKES, a convicted paedophile, sought to keep his sordid past a secret from a new partner and her children.

Brookes, aged 48, had previously been jailed for a sexual offence committed against a 13-year-old girl and was being supervised in the community on his release.

But he lied to his offender manager about being involved in a new relationship and breached a sexual offences prevention order banning him from communication with children.

He was sent back to prison for 12 months.

Ian Story

IAN STORY, aged 55, raped a toddler and sexually abused other children then bragged about it to other paedophiles.

He was identified when police noticed his distinctive tattoo and jewellery in sick videos he had made of himself committing his crimes.

Story was jailed 18 years plus a further five years on licence after admitting a string of offences against children.

JOSHUA RICHARDSON claimed it had been a "mistake" when he tried to strangle his former partner and held a knife to her throat.

Richardson, aged 27, was convicted of causing actual bodily harm and was sentenced to 18 months in prison.

LIAM FARNWORTH, aged 27, was jailed for two years and four months after he committed burglaries in Horwich and Tameside.

In the Horwich burglary, he and an accomplice, both wearing balaclavas, confronted the home owner when he discovered them searching through boxes of cutlery in the dining room.

Mark Ward

MARK WARD, aged 27, flew into a rage when he found his ex-girlfriend with a new partner on New Year's Day.

Ward, armed with a wallpaper scraper, attacked the man, hitting him around the head and leaving him with a fractured cheekbone. He was jailed for 25 months.
