VIDEO footage of a red car believed to have been involved in a fatal accident on the M60 has been released by police.

The car is believed to have played a part in the crash that killed Scott Hope, aged 27, who died from multiple injuries after the collision at around 4.20pm on December 20.

Scott, from Leigh, was riding his motorcycle along the clockwise carriageway of the M60 at junction 6 when he was overtaken by a red car travelling at speed in lane two of three.

Scott then pulled out into lane three and lost control due to the presence of a black Seat Leon Cupra also travelling at speed in lane three.

The driver of the Seat was subsequently arrested and has been bailed.

Officers now want help finding the driver of the red vehicle.

Sgt Paul Higgins, of the Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: “We have now managed to obtain some footage of the red car from the CCTV network that covers the M60.

“Unfortunately, the images aren’t of great quality but I would still like people to take a good look.

“A young man has lost his life in tragic and sudden circumstances so it is vital that people please take a few moments to tell us what they know.”
