With the sell-out fixture taking place at Prescot's Joseph Russell Stadium, Alex McNally far post header put Prescot 1-0 up just before half time.

The visitors were also down to ten men with a late challenge from Max Allen resulting in a red card.

With momentum on the side of Cables, top scorer John Murphy nodded home to make it 2-0 in the second half, sending the home crowd into a frenzy.

Celebrating the win on social media, a spokesperson for Cables said that the final was a "memorable day in the club's history".
