ST HELENS footballer Conor Coady has celebrated promotion to the Premier League with Leicester.

After signing for the recently-relegated Leicester City last summer, following spells at Everton and Wolves, Coady helped the Foxes secure promotion back into the top of the English football pyramid.

Leicester's promotion was confirmed with a 3-0 win over Preston last week and the club celebrated this with a bus parade through the city on Monday, May 6.

Coady, who grew up in Haydock and played for Rainford Rangers before signing professionally for Liverpool, was a major part of the promotion charge and shared images of the celebrations on social media.

The 31-year-old, who welcomed his fourth son with wife Amie last month, also set up a football academy with his younger brother Harrison last year.

Delivering one-to-one training and private sessions to grassroots teams around St Helens and Widnes, Coady explained that the 'Conor Coady Academy' has had "fantastic feedback" so far.

With ten England caps and more than 300 professional games under his belt, Coady also invited his young family onto the pitch to celebrate the promotion with his teammates.

Posting on social media after the trophy parade, the dad-of-four said: "Memories to last a lifetime … Thank you foxes."
