Horses take to the high street

The hunt rides through Tyldesley
SHOPPERS stood and stared and traffic pulled over as Tyldesley's main street echoed to the sound of the hooves of over 40 horses.
The town centre trail was part of The North East Cheshire Drag Hunt's end of year farm ride last Satuerday which was organised by Tom and Liz Lancaster from Walmsley Farm, Leigh.
Despite the atrocious weather conditions everyone had a great time exploring the paths and bridleways in the open spacers between Leigh, Atherton and Tyldesley and the town centre detour provided a rare spectacle for townsfolk.
Keen photographer and rider John Harwood from Lowton sent in this photograph of Tom Lancaster leading the charge down Elliott Street.
