A BLIND musician from Hindley has been training her harmonious hound to be a music-aware guide dog.
Wyn Rendle joined up with Bolton’s Craig Slater and Guide Dogs Manchester Mobility Team to tune up the dogs in a hotel.
Ms Rendle was training her second guide dog – a yellow labrador cross golden retriever called Orla – with an accordion as part of the training process in Bolton.
Orla, along with Mr Slater’s dog Thomas, is set to qualify in the coming weeks and is hoping to have many musical moments back with her owner at their Wigan home.
Mr Slater said: “Thomas will make a real difference to my life and give me the independence I need.”
The service transforms the lives of around 4,500 blind and partially sighted people every year.
