DAFFODILS will thrive in Lilford Park this spring, thanks to hard working volunteers.
The Friends of Lilford Park needed help to move tree bark onto a flower bed to ensure 1,000 daffodil bulbs that have been planted by the group could survive damaging winter frosts.
Despite the cold and the rain, 12 people turned up and completed the mission. David Sykes, chairman of FoLP, said: “A big thanks to everyone who took part in our voluntary event. It started off wet, but we still had 12 people on board by lunchtime and the sun shone brightly as our reward.”
