A 23-YEAR-OLD motorcyclist from Leigh who died following a collision with a car in Chorley has been named.

Nicholas Bennett died when he lost control of his 125cc motorbike while overtaking a slow moving vehicle on Bolton Road on January 29, just after 4pm.

He collided with an oncoming Fiat Panda and was taken to Royal Preston Hospital with multiple injuries but sadly died a short time later.

Sgt Finn Quainton from the Force Road Policing Unit said: “An investigation is underway into the circumstances of the collision but I would appeal to any witnesses to the collision to contact Lancashire Police on 101.”
