A WALK-in centre is helping to reduce pressure on A&E departments.
More than 13,000 patients have been seen at Leigh NHS Walk-In Centre, run by Bridgewater Community Healthcare NHS Trust, for a minor injury or illness since January 1.
Louise Simpson, acting clinical nurse manager at Bridgewater, said: “We are committed to relieving some of the pressure on the accident and emergency departments who need to prioritise patients with more serious and life-threatening conditions.
“We urge people in the borough to consider using the walk-in centre if they need assessment quickly for a minor injury or ailment.”
