A FLAG relay between the borough’s GPs is being planned to celebrate the 2014 Commonwealth Games.

Wigan Borough Clinical Commissioning Group and WLCT are planning a commonwealth flag relay which will take place over four days from July 29 to August 1.

Each surgery will be handing over a flag of the commonwealth to a neighbouring practice as part of the relay and as some GP practices have a greater distance to cover WLCT have kindly offered to help with the bigger distances.

Zoe Ball of WLCT Active Living team said: “We’re delighted to be involved in this event, which will get people active and provide a real celebration of the Commonwealth Games.”

The games begin on July 23 in Glasgow and the CCG would like members of the patients to get involved by calling 01942 482711 or emailing talktous@wiganboroughccg.nhs.uk.
