Roads closed after pedestrian hit by car in Atherton
A PEDESTRIAN was lucky to escape with minor injuries after being hit by a car.
Roads around Mealhouse Lane in Atherton were closed yesterday after an elderly woman was knocked down by a yellow Nissan Duke.
Police were called to the scene at 7.50pm and cordoned off the surrounding roads while the car was recovered.
The woman suffered a cut to her head and was taken to Salford Royal Hospital for treatment.
