TWO brothers have been jailed after police discovered 1.3kg of cocaine at their home.

Meisam and Mohammed Abvabi, of Cross Street, Hindley, pleaded guilty to conspiring to supply cocaine between November 11, 2012, and August 8, 2014, when they appeared at Liverpool Crown Court on Friday.

Meisam, 24, also admitted possessing an offensive weapon and was jailed for 12 years.

Mohammed, 23, admitted a conspiracy to launder money charge and was given a 10-year prison sentence.

PC John Litton, of Greater Manchester Police, said: “These two men worked together for a long period of time for their own gain but at the detriment to the communities of Greater Manchester.

“This sentencing result should send out a message that we work hard to keep drugs off our streets and we will continue to do so.”

The cocaine, some packaging materials, money and documents linking the brothers to the supply of the class A drug were found when the police searched their home.

Meisam was arrested on June 6, 2014, after being found in possession of cocaine, £1,800 and a knuckle duster.

He was later bailed pending further enquiries.

Mohammed was found in possession of cocaine and £800 when he was arrested on August 8, 2014.
