LEIGH Centurions players officially reopened a pub on Monday, hot on the heels of their super league promotion.

The players and club coach Neil Jukes, cut the ribbon on the Whistling Wren pub in Leigh Sports Village, just two days after their win against Huddersfield on Saturday.

The pub, re-opened after a two week refurbishment which included adding a brand new pizza kitchen in the 180 seater restaurant.

Dominic Smith, manager of the Whistling Wren, said: “It has been great having the lads from the Centurions here to officially re-open the pub.

“The refurbishment is looking fantastic and with the addition of a new pizza kitchen, I think our customers are going to really pleasantly surprised.”

The pub refurbishment is part of an ongoing new build and refurbishment scheme with Marston’s to provide top quality pubs across Britain.
