MOTHER of two Ellen Grice has swapped her snazzy electric blue cabriolet for a white van and has stopped selling clothes in favour of ironing them.

Ellen, 42, from Winchester Avenue, Astley, decided to set up her Iron Maiden business because she just loves ironing.

But although going it alone in the current economic climate might seem a risky move, she has a special helper looking over her.

Telly addicts might recognise Samantha, the magical witch from the US series Bewitched, emblazoned on the side of her van.

“I thought of using her character because with my service it’s like the ironing has been done by magic – taken away creased and delivered back ironed, on hangers and in cellophane wraps,” said Ellen.

“Most women would probably think me mad for setting up an ironing business, as a lot of women I have talked to say they hate ironing, but I find it very relaxing. I have sold my car, which was my pride and joy, but I am looking forward to using my new professional iron and ironing board, which cost me just short of £2,000.”
