A scooter stolen in a knifepoint robbery was found by police in Little Hulton late on Friday night.

Police say that the scooter was spotted on Cleggs Lane just before midnight and that it had been stolen after a robbery in Tameside last month.

Officers reported that the vehicle was on false plates and the rider was arrested.

On social media, a spokesperson for GMP Traffic said: “The rider of this scooter was seen on Cleggs Lane, Little Hulton just before midnight (on Friday).

“The rider was stopped, and the vehicle was found to be on false plates, having been stolen in a knifepoint robbery in Tameside last month.

“The rider arrested.”

It is one of many vehicles seized in recent months.

Just two weeks ago police seized three vehicles within the space of a week.

Under a shake-up of policing, officers are going back to basics.

The biggest shake-up in policing will see an increase in the number of officers across Bolton's division.

As part of that, police in Bolton took part in a week of action to tackle key issues across the district, including burglary, anti-social behaviour, drug dealing and speeding.
