A CAT was rescued from the roof of a house in Deane by firefighters who sprayed it with a hose.

The fire service was called by the RSPCA just after midday on Saturday after the cat got stuck on the roof, in Wellfield Road, Deane, for two days.

They used a hose to gently spray the cat towards a nearby tree, from which it climbed to safety.

And the bill goes to who for the turnout of the fire tender and five firefighters? Ohh yes, that's right, Joe & Joan Public plc will pick up that tab!
