A MAN has been arrested in connection with an attack in Chorley Old Road that left a dog walker fighting for his life.
The 35-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm, and is still in police custody for questioning.
The attack happened on Friday, July 25, at about 2am.
He had serious head injuries, and was in a coma after the attack.
His Patterdale terrier dog Pip stayed by his side after he was attacked.
Police are continuing to appeal to any witnesses to the attack or for anyone with information.
Det Insp Andy Cunliffe said: “Brendan was attacked as he walked his dog, and, although we have made an arrest, we would urge anybody with information about the incident to please call us in complete confidence.”
