AN equestrian competition to raise money in memory of a talented Horwich horsewoman will be held next month.

Mum-of-one Zoe Milton died following a battle with cancer in 2014 at the age of 28.

Friends have now organised a second equestrian fundraising event in her memory which will raise funds for Bolton Hospice.

Dressage For Zoe is open to riders of all abilities on their own horses.

Dressage organiser Kat Dibbits said: "Zoe was a talented dressage rider and all-round lovely person.

"The first round of fundraising was a huge success, but we didn't want it to be just a one-off, which is why we will be hosting this competition every year."

The competition will take place at Abram Hall Farm Riding Centre on August 14.

There will be rosettes for riders placed in the top six, and goody bags for all winners, with prizes donated by companies including NetTex, Likit and Naf, with all proceeds donated to the hospice.

Fundraising for Bolton Hospice started shortly after Zoe was diagnosed with cervical cancer and, following her death that year, campaigners raised a total of more than £80,000.
