MAY I through, The Bolton News, thank on behalf of the family of the late Fusilier Tony Emery, the Mayor and Mayoress of Bolton, Cllr Colin and Dee Shaw, Cllr David Chadwick, the officers and soldiers of the 2nd Battalion The Royal Regiment of Fusiliers, Army padre and Father Duncan McVicar.
They organised, attended and conducted a most beautiful requiem mass and military ceremony on January 23 in St Ethelbert’s RC Church and then at Heaton Cemetery.
It was a very emotional and moving day attended by many of Tony’s family, relatives, and his Army family and friends, who celebrated the tragically short life of a much-loved, great young man and a highly regarded and respected serving soldier.
Kevin Morris (On behalf of Tony’s family)
