AFTER the refusal of the Foreign Secretary to say Israel’s bombardment of Gaza is disproportionate, the Deputy Prime Minister has stated that the action of Israel does appear deliberately disproportionate.
It is deeply frustrating and upsetting that William Hague represents me and all of the people of this country.
On this issue, keep speaking Nick Clegg. I am grateful that the Liberal Democrat Deputy Prime Minister and, with him, the LibDem Lord Ashdown are voices breaking through the Conservative Cabinet, calling strongly for a peace process and calling the action illegal when they believe it to be.
News is heartbreaking with reports that Palestinians believe the world has abandoned them.
There is a clamour from around the world for Israel to stop its heavy assault on Gaza and a clamour from around the world, once again, for peace. We have a government to represent us and we must lobby them to speak justly on our behalf. Susan Haworth Tonge Moor
