IN response to “Give cash to hall”, (Letters October 14), it’s not always down to “the council” to help in such situations.
The people of Bolton, readers of The Bolton News, could support the Victoria Hall — a cultural gem, as Ruth Kelly describes it.
Whether as a venue for major concerts, the amazing annual schools music festival, university graduation ceremonies or school events, the hall is a major cultural asset for the town.
For more than 100 years, the Victoria Hall has been both a venue for entertainment for the people of Bolton and a place of worship for Methodists.
Tomorrow, a concert to raise funds for the hall provides an opportunity for Bolton people to lend their support by buying tickets and attending.
If a fraction of the Bolton News’s 75,000 readers did this the 1,200 seat hall would be filled to capacity.
